POTC Blocks

Here are the newest blocks for my "Lucy Boston" quilt. I am now up to seven blocks total...I will be putting the connecting round on now as I don't want to leave all those to the end...it would be so boring to do so...I am using a small dot in black on white...will show those next time...

A Finish and a Start

I have finished my second "Sunday Shawl" in the autumn colors. I am very pleased with how it has turned out. I have also started my first ever knitted socks. I am enjoying the making of them, but it is slow going. I hope I will become faster the more I knit. Right now I knit at a snails pace. Not like crochet at all.

Sunday Shawl

I finally finished my "Sunday Shawl" and I am so in love with it...it has such a nice feel to it and is snuggly warm...I am already planning the colors for the next two of these...one will be a gift for my mom in her favorite colors...it only took three days of crocheting in the evenings to finish this one...

Hanky Play....

Playing with men's handkerchiefs and stitch. These are just pinned at the moment.
I don't know why this one is sideways...blogger is not playing right today
These are nice men's handkerchiefs that I am using along with vintage linen pieces and lace, some new some vintage...

This one has a vintage cotton napkin with bows as well as some scrim lace with stitch added.

This one has cotton cluny lace as well as a piece of my lace and surface play added.

I really like this one as it is lavender/purple with a doily and vintage lace cuffs that I have had hanging around for a bit. All these need to be stitched down and then titivated...stay tuned...still posting from the iphone so picture quality is not the best, but will have to do for now...hopefully the laptop will be ready soon. Posting from the phone is a learning curve for me...

Black, Red and Stitch

Thought I would make a black lace piece with stitch to see how I like it....so far I really like the look...
I love the richness the red adds to the piece...stitch will be in red as well as black....
Maybe even some beading in red and black...
I want to see how the black and red come together as a whole...my sister has her bedroom in reds, black and gold...I will be making her one for her bedroom if this plan works out like I hope it will...I think it is going to be beautiful when all is said and done...

Adding Bling...

Adding a bit of bling and more titivation to my lace cloth I am making...fresh water pearls, beads and sequins are being added...
as well as more stitch titivation to each area as I go....
I have not damped stretched yet, but may today so I can get an over all look to see if I want to add more bling and stitch...
knots, bullion loops and blanket stitch so far....
I have been thinking about adding some silk ribbon embroidery to this piece as well...
for now I am enjoying the process of taking it further than just stitches...a mirror or two may find its way onto the cloth as well...
I was up until the wee hours working on this lovely cloth...I just could not put it down...
I am thinking about new ways to use my lace cloth when finished...
or maybe I will keep it in its entirety and make a wall hanging out of this lovely lace cloth...
or maybe hang it in a window so the sunlight catches the beading and makes it sparkle even more...
wish you could see this in person...so much better than the pics could ever make it look...so much to see that you want to just look at it for long periods of time...
finding new areas that may need a little titivation or beading....
last night I kept telling myself just one more french knot...only a couple of more beads...
no real hurry, just slow stitching and beading going on...falling in love again with how this is coming along...sigh...thinking I may even dream of lace, beads, knots and bullions in my sleep...until next time, keep those needles stitching,

Stitching....

I have been making lace and stitching lace again...this one has some sparkly bits with lots of knots and bullions so far...
I just love working with this wonderful cloth...I seem to lose myself in the process of making it....
Then I can lose myself in the stitching and titivating of the piece as well...it always makes the time pass quickly...
Before I know it, time has slipped away and it is time I should be in bed resting...note, I said should be as I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning playing with stitch...
I just could not help myself...I am so in love with making this type of lacework...
Every buttonhole stitch, every knot, every bullion has the ability to take lovely lace cloth to breath taking lace cloth...that is how I feel about this cloth and the making of it...
It makes me quite breathless to think that I made this and no one else has this cloth but me...oh, you can make it, but it would still not be the same...as you would put your own spin to it...
 every knot....
every bullion reflects the love for stitching that I have...every open oval is a representation of the endless possibilities that lies within this cloth I am creating, titivating and falling more in love with...sigh...time to stitch more....until next time, keep those needles stitching.
