More Baskets

I have four more baskets ready. I am enjoying these very much even though it has been a bit of time between stitching these. I now need to cut out more as I am out of baskets and backgrounds. This is truly going to be a scrappy basket quilt as I never know what background or basket fabric will be used. Trying to reduce some of my stash. Still working on the studio. Work came to a stop for a bit, but I am hoping to get the sanding finished and start to paint by next weekend. Then I have to decide what type of flooring I want. Decisions to be made for paint color as well. Have a great day and I hope you find some time to stitch.

More Artist Book Pages....Photo Heavy Post

Another group of collages for my "Artist Book". I have really enjoyed the making of these and have already placed these inside the book itself.
This one has vintage lace as well as modern lace, which I think is a good mix for this collage. I also placed one of my lace and beaded toggle on this one.
This one has a bit of gingham, vintage lace and a bit of paper as well as a toggle.
This one has antique lace at the bottom along with mulberry paper, word fabric, broderie anglaise fabric and of course the beautiful lace motif that I have had forever and a day.
Again vintage lace, paper, broderie anglaise, a bit of scrim as well as a stitched feature with knots and weaving.
This one has paper scraps, lace broderie anglaise and a bit of fabric that I have had for ages.
A pull out page for my book, the back side
The front side of the pull out page
Another angle of the same little page
The page as it sits inside the book
Buttons and beads
A smaller book for the larger book. I used samples from another class I had taken with Karen for these pages. I love all those bullion loops.
This is a tiny card that I wrote a thought concerning my dad. I knew I had to place this in my book as it brings fond memories to mind.
How it looks closed for now
I still have 15 blank spaces that need to be filled at this point. I am working on those even as I take out time to write up this post.
Another view of the book
This is a page in progress at the moment

These are ready to go inside the book and I will place them inside sometime today. I am steadily working to fill all those empty spaces in my book. I am enjoying the process immensely and will be making more of these in the future. First to finish this one and then plan the next one. This has been one of my favorite classes that I have taken from Karen over the years. A great class with a great group of ladies. Have a great day.

Another micro mini "Artist Book" completed. I am really enjoying the making of these tiny books with pages loaded with vintage laces and fabrics. My plan is to eventually make a whole bowl full of these lovely books. I have also made a new page for the artist book I have been making for class. My main book is coming along nicely.

My gardenia bush is in full bloom. The outside smells glorious and I just had to bring some inside to spread the joyful smell. My house smells so lovely right now with these beauties all through the house. I took my mom a teapot full of the blooms as well. My smaller bush is just beginning to bloom. This large bush is about 6ft around in size and is taller than me (I am 5'7 1/2") So I would say the bush is about 6ft in height. Huge is an understatement. The previous owners of this house must have really loved this bush to allow it to grow so big. I know I am in love with it and will be keeping it this size as well. You can smell it from the front porch or back area of the lawn. Just glorious!

More hearts added to my heart pile. I love making these easy peasy little beauties. I also have a new addiction in the desert realm. Marshmallows with dark chocolate drizzled over them. Jazmine and I ate these while she was here last week. So very good. Hope you are having a great day!

At Long Last....

At long last the work to enclose the carport to make my office and studio has been started. I have been so excited about this for the longest time and the past two weeks have brought it to reality. It is all blacked in, the electrical complete and the sheetrock is up in both rooms. The mudding is complete as well. Now comes the sanding and then paint. I am so excited that the end is near. The office has ten outlets and the studio has a total of twenty five outlets. I did not want a shortage of outlets. This way I have outlets to meet all my needs without having to unplug a machine to use an iron or heat gun etc. This way I have plenty. New overhead lighting put in as well. I am thinking I will paint a neutral color on the walls, but not sure yet as I love color so much. I will be painting the exterior door a vibrant red though and will be posting that soon. So, as the work continues the countdown to move in time is on! I am really looking forward to having this dedicated space to be creative in. I am going to need an out building as well. Last year a week before my Uncle Jack passed away in December, he gave me a kiln. I now have a kiln to do ceramics and pottery in. I will need a building for that on the property as well. In the meantime, I am going to be learning how to use it and create wonderful items with the kiln. I am hoping I can find a class nearby to at least get the basics down. Hope you have a happy stitchy kind of day!
