I participated in the 12" Mini Swap last round hosted by Cheryl from here. This is such a great swap to do and I enjoyed making little quilts for my partners. However there was a snag with the last round for myself and another lady in the group. Our wonderful swap mom made arrangements so that both of us would receive a wonderful little mini. My month was summer and my new partners theme was embroidery.
Our fearless swap mom made this wonderful mini for me as a replacement...Thank you so much Cheryl as this is a wonderful little quilt! I love it. Thank you for taking time out in your busy schedule to make this for me. And some lovely extras as well....
My partner Hollie does not have a blog, but here is the little quilt that I made and sent out to her.
It took some time to stitch and I fell in love with it before I was finished. Now I am going to have to make one for my mini quilt wall as well. This is a Michelle Ridgeway design from her blog.
Such a cute and wonderful design to stitch up. I do hope Hollie loves her little mini quilt as much as I enjoyed making it for her. Again thank you Cheryl for making this such a wonderful swap for all your ladies.

Well I have started my "Natures Journey" by Anni Downs of Hatched and Patched. Chooky is running another stitch along this year and I did join in as we had a break from stitching last year. Since I am using my stash up this year I thought this was a great way to make a start. This is such a cute little quilt and I am using my stash of "Spirit" that I have had forever and a day. I still need to do the embroidery on each of the blocks. I had a bit of a bleed from the thread when I damp stretched the block. I have since corrected the problem, although I should have done a test piece first, which I did not. Since the thread is hand dyed I should have tested it on a small piece before I stitched with it. That would have saved me not only time, but a big headache as well. I have decided to go with needle turn applique to help me get ready for the "big" applique quilt for the hubby. (Ladies of The Sea) So a few practice quilts are in order since I am new to needle turn as my form of applique. It takes lots of patience to be sure, but I am hoping by the end of the journey I will be much more proficient at needle turn applique. A learning curve for me to improve my set of stitching skills to be sure. I am enjoying the process thus far and have already prepped and started on this months set of blocks.

I have finally started this cal this past weekend. I have become very close to the terms frog and frogging we are now best friends!:) I am really liking the way this is making up so far. I decided to use my fall colors from Attic24 for this project and I think they are going to look really good in the end product. I have completed the first two parts and am now ready to start part three. One more just because...

Once again I have been bitten by the scrim lace muse. I love how this always has such an airy look to it. This time there is some cross stitch added in the form of roses. I have I ever said that I absolutely hated cross stitch on here before? Well, I do and that has not changed. However, using the waste canvas and a small rose pattern I have added some stitched roses to the lace. I have not changed my mind about the cross stitch, but in small samples I am ok with it. A few more to go and then I will be adding some bullions, bumpy bits and a few knots here and there.

Anthea from here is hosting a linky party for those who love to epp (English Paper Piecing) for those who don't know what epp stands for. Here is what she says,
Whether you play with a few shapes here & there, or you're slowly working towards a once-in-a-lifetime creation... if you're a beginner or have been doing EPP for years... or maybe you need a re-boot on your project... you're welcome to join in.
All shapes, sizes & projects are welcome!
On the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month

I pulled out my stars to work on them a bit and finished two new ones. The boot is finally finished and I stitched together the rose one as well. A good start on an wip that has been languishing since last summer. I plan to keep these next to my couch so that I can stitch up a star while watching movies when I have free time. Just working on these during dr. appts and such is taking a long time to make any real progress on my handwork projects. I am hoping this will make a big impact on the monthly stars. I am also linking up with Jessica from here.
here. I will post about what I made as soon as it arrives to my partner, so stay tuned.

Karen does the most amazing work. The pillow is one of her latest creations and it has made its way into my little hands! Karen, the pillow is just beautiful and I am so happy to have it in my home. Now, just one more pic :)
